About the random sequence generator

A random sequence generator creates the full set of integers between two endpoints and rearranges them. It is useful when every number must receive a place in an order without duplicates or omissions. Unlike a random number picker, it does not sample a smaller count; the range itself determines the complete output size.

How to use the number sequence

  1. Enter an integer Start and End, with the end on or after the start.
  2. Keep the range to 10,000 integers or fewer. Both endpoint values count toward the sequence length.
  3. Click Shuffle sequence. Copy or download the full result, disabling position numbering if you want only the shuffled values.

Number sequence example

One possible result is shown below. Your result will vary.

Settings

Start: 1
End: 6

Example result

1. 4
2. 1
3. 6
4. 3
5. 2
6. 5

The result contains all six integers from 1 through 6, with no missing values and no repeated number.

When to use it

Numbered turn schedules

Create an order for numbered participants, workstations, or activities. Every eligible number appears, so the output can serve as a complete checklist.

Question and exercise sequences

Reorder a consecutive set of problem numbers. If your chosen problems have gaps, paste those particular numbers into Number order instead.

Nonrepeating numeric order

Produce a permutation of a range for a game or practice exercise. The full sequence is generated first and then shuffled.

Options and input rules

Inclusive range
Output size is End − Start + 1. A range from 0 to 9 has ten entries, while 1 to 9 has nine.
Range limits
Start and End can be integers between −1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000, but their inclusive span must not exceed 10,000 numbers.
No repeats
Every generated value is unique by construction. You do not need a duplicate-removal option, and numbers cannot be excluded from the middle of the range.

How the randomization works

The tool uses a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues() source. It walks through the list and exchanges each entry with a randomly chosen eligible position. The settings for this tool then determine how the shuffled entries become an order, selection, or set of assignments.

Entries and results stay in this page’s memory. This site does not upload your input or keep a saved history. A new generation replaces the displayed result; copy or download anything you want to keep before reloading or leaving the page.

Frequently asked questions

How do I generate a random order from 1 to 100?

Set Start to 1 and End to 100. The result contains all 100 values exactly once, in a random order.

Can I include zero and negative integers?

Yes. A range such as −3 to 3 contains seven integers including zero. The tool shuffles them without changing their values.

Can I request just five numbers from a larger range?

Use Number picker for a smaller sample. Number sequence always outputs the entire inclusive range.

Can I generate a sequence with gaps or decimals?

Not here. This tool creates consecutive integers. Use Number order to shuffle an existing list that contains gaps, decimals, or selected numeric values.
