About the random number generator

A random number generator picks values from a range without requiring you to type every possible number. This version generates whole numbers, including negative integers. You can request a single result or a list, with repeated values either allowed or excluded. It does not generate decimals or reorder a supplied list of numbers.

How to use the number picker

  1. Enter the inclusive Minimum and Maximum. The minimum must not be greater than the maximum.
  2. Set How many between 1 and 100. Leave Allow repeated numbers unchecked for unique results.
  3. Click Pick numbers. Copy the resulting integers or download a text file with your selected numbering preference.

Example result

1. 8
2. 3
3. 10
4. 1

Each result is an integer from 1 through 10. Both 1 and 10 are eligible, and no value appears twice in this draw.

When to use it

Pick numbered options

Number a set of choices and draw a value from that range. Check that every eligible number corresponds to an actual option before using the result.

Games and practice

Generate integers for arithmetic exercises, guessing games, or randomized prompts. Adjust the range to match the activity rather than editing the results afterward.

Unique sample values

Request several different numbers without replacement. This is useful when each numbered item should appear at most once in the selected set.

Options and input rules

Inclusive endpoints
Minimum and Maximum are both eligible. A range from 1 to 10 contains ten values, not nine. Equal endpoints are allowed when the requested count can be satisfied.
Unique or repeated
Without repeats, the range must contain at least as many integers as the requested count. With repeats enabled, each value is picked independently.
Supported range
Endpoints must be whole numbers between −1,000,000,000 and 1,000,000,000. To output every integer in a smaller range, use Number sequence.

How the randomization works

This tool uses the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues() source. Integer selection uses rejection sampling to avoid modulo bias. Each generated value is sampled from the eligible outcomes; the options above determine whether previous selections in the same batch remain eligible.

Entries and results stay in this page’s memory. This site does not upload your input or keep a saved history. A new generation replaces the displayed result; copy or download anything you want to keep before reloading or leaving the page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate numbers without duplicates?

Yes. Leave Allow repeated numbers unchecked. The generator checks that the range is large enough to supply the number of unique results you request.

Does the maximum number have a chance of appearing?

Yes. Both endpoints are included, so the minimum and maximum are as eligible as any other integer in the range.

Can I generate random decimals?

This tool generates integers only. Decimal endpoints are not accepted, and results are not rounded from randomly generated fractional numbers.

How is this different from the number order tool?

Number order shuffles the specific values you paste. This generator creates values by sampling an inclusive integer range.
