About the random playlist shuffler

A playlist shuffler rearranges a text list without removing tracks or choosing only one song. Use it when you want a complete running order that you can review and save. The tool works with the labels you paste; it does not connect to a music account, import a streaming playlist URL, or play the resulting sequence.

How to use the playlist shuffler

  1. Paste one complete track per line. A format such as “Song title — Artist” keeps related information together.
  2. Use New line when song titles contain commas. Enable Remove duplicates only if exact repeated entries are accidental.
  3. Click Shuffle playlist, then copy or download the complete order. Paste or recreate that order in the player or document you use.

One possible result is shown below. Your result will vary.

Input

Dreams — Fleetwood Mac
Electric Feel — MGMT
Lovely Day — Bill Withers
Golden — Harry Styles

Example result

1. Lovely Day — Bill Withers
2. Dreams — Fleetwood Mac
3. Golden — Harry Styles
4. Electric Feel — MGMT

Each song-and-artist line moves as a unit. All four tracks remain in the shuffled playlist.

When to use it

Listening queues

Create a new running order for a set of albums, songs, or podcast episodes. Save the list if you want to follow the same sequence later.

Watch lists

Reorder films or episodes that can be watched independently. For a series where story order matters, shuffle series titles rather than individual episodes.

Practice and rehearsal

Mix songs or exercises to vary a practice session. Any transition, tuning, or pacing constraints need a manual check after shuffling.

Options and input rules

Song labels
Enter title and artist together on the same line. The tool does not recognize artists or group tracks by album, so separate lines are separate entries.
Duplicate tracks
Removal uses exact, case-sensitive text. “Dreams — Fleetwood Mac” and “Fleetwood Mac - Dreams” remain distinct even if they refer to the same recording.
Export format
Copy and Download produce plain text. They do not create Spotify playlists, Apple Music queues, audio files, or M3U files with playable media paths.

How the randomization works

The tool uses a Fisher–Yates shuffle driven by the browser’s crypto.getRandomValues() source. It walks through the list and exchanges each entry with a randomly chosen eligible position. The settings for this tool then determine how the shuffled entries become an order, selection, or set of assignments.

Entries and results stay in this page’s memory. This site does not upload your input or keep a saved history. A new generation replaces the displayed result; copy or download anything you want to keep before reloading or leaving the page.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paste a Spotify or YouTube playlist link?

There is no playlist-link import. Paste the track titles as text, one per line. A pasted URL is treated as a single label, not fetched or expanded.

Will every song play once before repeating?

The generated list contains every entry once unless identical tracks were entered more than once. The tool creates an order but does not control playback.

Can I keep songs by the same artist apart?

Not automatically. The shuffle does not analyze artist names or apply spacing rules. Review and adjust the exported order if that matters.

Why did the first track stay first?

A shuffle does not require every item to move. Individual tracks can retain their position, and short playlists can repeat an earlier order by chance.
